KINGSMEN announce new album: TANNER GUIMOND opens up about the journey to REVENGE. FORGIVENESS. RECOVERY and single NIGHTMARE.
Rhode Island powerhouse KINGSMEN announce the release of their debut album REVENGE. FORGIVENESS. RECOVERY due out on April 10th, 2020 via SharpTone Records. After debuting on the scene with EP Split Series #1 together with label mates ExitWounds in November 2018 and signing with their new label the following year, the band is gearing up to drop their debut record.
Alongside the announcement, the band of Tanner Guimond (vocals), Tim Lucier (guitar), Michael Perrotta (drums) and Adam Bakelman (bass), unleashed a new music video for the first single to be lifted from the upcoming album, titled NIGHTMARE. The track gives the fan base a new taste of their highly-anticipated effort. Kingsmen are taking the metal scene by storm with their merciless, face melting riffing and neck-snapping blast beats. The band takes a firm step into blistering and bold heaviness with a backbone of death metal, pushing the boundaries of their trademark with an intense delivery. The song touches on the darkest corners of the listener’s mind. It’s about going through a rough patch in life, never surrendering and embracing change.
The band has been experiencing turmoil over the last few years, which ultimately led to creation of Revenge. Forgiveness. Recovery. It was produced in Nashville, Tennessee with the collaboration of Mark Lewis, known for having worked for established artists such as Trivium, DevilDriver, The Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse and Whitechapel. With a brutal full-length on the way and a new inspiration, Kingsmen are back on track and armed to the teeth.
Vocalist Tanner Guimond opened up about the single, also sharing his thoughts about the journey and the difficulties the band has faced over the past few years, as below:
“Life isn’t always a beautiful dream. More often than not we are faced with challenges that are nearly impossible to handle. Our journey for the last few years has been full of sickness, death, misguidance and heartbreak. Our turmoil has led to the creation of our first full length album Revenge. Forgiveness. Recovery.”
“When you listen to us, we want you to know there’s always hope. Our album was made during a dark period in our lives, we’re still here living, breathing, and loving life. We can only hope it helps and heals others through hard times. Kingsmen traditionally protect someone in power. To tie this to our meaning, we protect each other like a family. Through many trials and tribulations, we’ve always found the strength to persevere through our struggles together by making music.”
About new single NIGHTMARE, he stated:
“It’s about the never-ending struggle of living with that devil on our shoulders. Everybody has one. He whispers in your ear daily. Sometimes, you give in to his influence. Sometimes, you don’t. The true nightmare is you can’t control what this devil says and the fact he’s always attempting to influence you.”
